Choosing an air conditioning unit
There are two kinds of units you can choose from for your entertainment room.
You can choose either the window or wall-mounted air conditioners or the split-type unit. The window or wall-mounted type is what is commonly used for single rooms and it is cheaper than the other kind. The disadvantage when using this unit is that you must already have an open slot on the wall to place the unit. The split type unit is a better choice if you do not have that ready-made slot because it comprises two parts, one to place in your room and the other outside. The indoor unit is what blows the cool air to your room while the outdoor unit is what sucks, compresses, condenses and cools the air then delivers it to the indoor unit. Split type units also look and blends better in the room than the other type.

Maintenance and repair
To maintain and repair your units, it is always best to engage the services of professionals. But there are some things you can do by yourself in maintaining your units. One thing you can do is to clean the filter, and this can be done by removing the front grille and clean or replace the filter. Washing the filter is easy and this can be done with a solution of mild household detergent and water. After washing, let the filter dry first before putting it back. You can also clean the evaporator and condenser coils yourself by using a vacuum cleaner. Dirt build-up on the coil is a common cause of poor efficiency. As for the fins on the coils, if they get bent in the cleaning process, you can use a fin comb to straighten them back into place. Despite these personal maintenance, it is always recommended that you have professionals do an overall cleaning and maintenance on your units at least once every four months.
